Capgemini to Support UK Defense and Security Executive Agency’s Digital Transformation

The United Kingdom’s Defence Science and Technology Laboratory has tapped Capgemini to support its digital transformation.

Under a three-year contract worth about $168 million, the French information technology services and consulting firm will help advance Dstl’s high-impact science and technology capabilities with a focus on end user, application and data management.

Matt Howell, head of public sector at Capgemini in the U.K., said this is the company’s chance to help Dstl achieve its mission and make an impact in national security. “Our proposed solution will help to drive greater interoperability with wider U.K. defense and security organizations, leveraging our experience in this area across government and beyond, so that services can be reused where possible, with Dstl benefiting from access to best practice solutions and economies of scale,” he said.

The Ministry of Defence’s Dstl, the country’s executive agency for defense and security, supports the MoD’s specialist services needs in collaboration with partners in the industrial and education sectors.

In 2023, the organization laid down its priorities for the next couple of years, including helping the ministry identify and monitor national security threats and safeguard the nation’s interests at home and across the globe.

The new contract builds on the executive agency’s existing partnership with Capgemini’s deep tech arm, Cambridge Consultants.
