The U.K. Ministry of Defence has awarded a two-year contract to Cubic Defense to use the company’s Light Gun Simulation System for training at the Royal School of Artillery in Larkhill, Wiltshire. According to Cubic, the contract also allows for the British Army to open LGSS use to Royal Artillery regular and reserve units in camp or joint training.
The LGSS provides emulated ammunition, fuses and charges to replicate all drills when firing a light gun and is fully interoperable with Cubic’s Live, Virtual and Constructive training system and Tactical Engagement System Saab supplied to the British Army.
Paul Shew, Cubic Defense president, said the “fully immersive training system” allows training units to coordinate artillery fires and maneuvers and to gather feedback data for post-training review.
