German advanced multi-sensor unmanned aerial systems maker Quantum Systems has acquired aerospace component manufacturer AirRobot, expanding the products and services it offers to the Bundeswehr and other armed forces in Europe.
Integrating AirRobot into its operations allows the German drone company to gain a helicopter drone offering, among other unmanned systems.
“This acquisition strengthens our position as an innovative provider of drone technologies for defense and security applications,” Quantum Systems Chief Strategy Officer Sven Kruck said.
Quantum Systems’ business is focused on delivering artificial intelligence-driven fixed-wing drones and software. Meanwhile, AirRobot supports the German armed forces in its MIKADO II program and supplies Lockheed Martin with components for the British Defense Ministry’s TIQUILA program.
According to Robert Polok, managing director at AirRobot, joining Quantum Systems ushers in new opportunities to advance unmanned systems, leveraging the two companies’ technologies, expertise and innovative power.
Quantum Systems also supplies the drone requirements of countries outside of Europe. In April 2025, its U.S.-based business Quantum-Systems Inc. is set to deliver Vector fixed-wing electric vertical takeoff and landing drones to the Australian Defence Force.
