The U.K Ministry of Defence has selected Ultra Intelligence & Communications as a supplier for its Crown Commercial Service’s Network Services 3 framework, which allows the government to achieve maximum commercial value when procuring products and services.
Under the agreement, the company will serve as the authorized distributor of the ORION radio family of systems to the ministry and other government agencies.
The arrangement also enables public sector organizations to purchase high-capacity and line-of-sight tactical radio communication systems from Ultra I&C through a direct award or competition.
The ORION radio system is a software-defined, multi-channel, multi-band and multiple-input multiple-output radio platform that supports various user requirements in contested and congested domains. It is compatible with other radio systems with partner waveform providers.
In a statement, Alain Cohen, president of communications at Ultra I&C, said the company’s strategic partnership with the U.K. government will provide agencies with advanced capabilities in highly reliable tactical comms.
