Belgian National, Regional Governments Select Zivver Platform to Prevent Data Leaks

Federal and regional governments in Belgium have selected Zivver to provide secure digital communications to ensure compliance with regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation and NIS2.

Under a framework deal, public sector entities will have access to the Dutch security company’s email and file exchange platform built with encryption, authentication and security layers to prevent data leaks due to human error, ensure data transport and storage security, and manage access control. The platform integrates with Microsoft, Google and other email systems, uses machine learning, and provides decision support.

According to Rick Goud, chief innovation officer and co-founder of Zivver, preventing human error is an explicit requirement under the NIS2 law, which aims to strengthen cybersecurity, incident management and oversight measures for entities that provide services that help maintain critical social or economic activities.

With the Zivver platform, the governments can ensure their personnel will send “the right information to the right recipient with the right security, without extra steps or complicated procedures,” Goud said.
