Serco Completes Babcock Vessel Maintenance Task on Two P24s for British Royal Navy

Serco has completed the maintenance and repair of two British Royal Navy Pacific 24 rigid hull inflatable boats deployed in Australian waters, a task awarded by Babcock Australia & New Zealand.

According to Clint Thomas, Defence managing director at Serco Asia Pacific, the contract provided the company opportunity to demonstrate its maritime capabilities across Australia.

“We are excited to support Babcock and continue to look for opportunities to work together with other industry partners for the benefit of our AUKUS partners,” Thomas said.

Serco worked on the RN vessels at its port facilities in Cairns, one of its eight Asia-Pacific maritime service centers.

In a separate LinkedIn post, Babcock Australia & New Zealand noted that Serco’s two-month maintenance program was initiated in May as part of an ongoing contract between RN and Babcock International Group.
