GE Aerospace has unveiled a Turkey Technology Center in İstanbul to support its global and regional customers.
The company said the new campus in Kartal district will house 400 skilled technicians, enhancing its engineering, innovation, research and manufacturing capabilities in Turkey and helping advance the West Asian country’s defense programs.
GE Aerospace established a TTC in Gebze in 2000, which includes special laboratories that support ongoing technology enhancements to in-service engines and work on aero-derivative technology, developing marine and power engines derived from commercial engines.
According to TTC General Manager Aybike Molbay, the investment in the new center reflects GE Aerospace’s confidence in the “exceptional caliber of the teams working here.”
Mohamed Ali, vice president and general manager of engineering at GE Aerospace, attests to TTC’s highly skilled workforce and a Turkish market that keeps it close to its customers.
“We are proud to have been in Turkiye for many decades, and proud to continue to be a partner now and in the future,” he said in a statement.
The Istanbul launch follows news of the company’s plans to hire 900 new engineers to support current engine programs and development efforts for advanced technologies.
The company said it will recruit talent from across the globe to fill vacant roles in the United States.
