Elbit to Deliver Counter-Drone System to NATO Customer

Israeli defense firm Elbit Systems has secured a $60 million contract to deliver the ReDrone modular counter-unmanned aerial system to an undisclosed NATO country.

The three-year contract includes providing advanced equipment such as the DAiR radar, signal intelligence sensors, electronic warfare countermeasures and an electro-optical day/night payload.

The ReDrone advanced response system is designed to detect, identify, track, and neutralize any unmanned aerial system regardless of location or weather conditions. It operates effectively day or night and offers 360-degree monitoring coverage, allowing the detection of drones approaching from any direction. Additionally, the ReDrone can engage multiple drones simultaneously and operate continuously 24/7.

The Netherlands is among the countries using the ReDrone to address UAV threats, having signed a four-year, $55 million contract for the CUAS solution. Previously, Elbit collaborated with an unnamed international customer to enhance the ReDrone’s capabilities by integrating it with the Red Eye System, improving both soft- and hard-kill defense options.

Oren Sabag, general manager of Elbit Systems’ ISTAR & EW business, said the new order from the NATO country demonstrates the “robustness and effectiveness of our system,” which is built upon advanced capabilities in EW, SIGINT, radar and EO technologies.
