California-based quantum software firm BlueQubit and Israeli hardware developer Quantum Art have secured a $2.2 million grant from the U.S.-Israel BIRD Foundation to advance quantum computing technology.
Under a partnership, the two companies will seek to develop and optimize quantum machine learning algorithms and quantum processor configurations over the next two years to accelerate advancements in finance, pharmaceuticals, security and other fields.
BlueQubit specializes in quantum simulations, while Quantum Art focuses on scalable quantum computers using trapped ion qubits.
BlueQubit CEO Hrant Gharibyan said the project will use “software and hardware co-design … [to] address key challenges and make quantum technology accessible to enterprise users.”
Since 1977, the BIRD Foundation has invested over $10 billion in over 1,000 U.S.-Israeli joint ventures, fostering innovation in critical sectors such as agriculture, communications, homeland security and energy.
