CACI to Provide Canadian Soldiers With SkyTracker Tech for Counter-UAS Operations; John Mengucci Quoted

CACI International will supply Canadian soldiers with technologies to take down enemy drones.

According to the defense company, it received a contract from the Canadian Armed Forces to provide its SkyTracker counter-uncrewed technology suite. SkyTracker can detect and track unmanned aircraft systems and offer precision mitigation recommendations to ward off threats.

The technology was first introduced in 2014 as a fixed-site C-UAS, but it has evolved into a family of both fixed and mobile systems to meet different mission requirements.

The CAF will use BEAM, the man-packable component of the SkyTracker suite, to detect and defeat airborne threats on the battlefield.

“Today’s bad actors and near-peer adversaries are leveraging uncrewed weapons to cripple military forces and weaken governments,” said John Mengucci, president and CEO of CACI.

“With CACI’s superior technologies, critical sites and personnel are protected by counter-uncrewed capabilities that are operationally proven.”

Drones have played increasingly important roles on the modern battlefield. In Ukraine, both Kyiv and Moscow deploy unmanned platforms for surveillance and to destroy enemy targets.
