Canberra has published the 2024 Australian Defence Export Catalogue, listing more businesses that deliver defense services and capabilities to foreign customers, an increase of 20 percent from the previous iteration.

According to Defence Australia, the business growth reflected in the catalog highlights the federal government’s commitment to helping local defense companies access the international market and integrate Australian military technologies into global supply chains.

As mandated by Defence Export Control legislation, the export of controlled goods and technology is subjected to a rigorous assessment process, Defence Australia added.

Minister for Defence Industry Pat Conroy said the growing number of exporters would generate new jobs and strengthen Australia’s sovereign defense industry.

“The record number of 302 companies participating in the 2024 catalog also highlights that industry and the Albanese government have a shared vision for growing exports,” he said in a statement. “The catalogue underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to supporting local defense industry to export Aussie… technology.”

The 2024 catalog was released just days after the Australian government announced that it has sealed an agreement to build over 100 Boxer heavy weapon carrier vehicles in Queensland and ship them to Germany.

The deal is projected to secure 600 jobs in Queensland and inject $659.8 million into the Australian economy, Mirage .News reported.
