Iveda Secures Third Supply Contract With Taiwanese Government Customer

An unnamed Taiwanese government agency has signed a contract for the supply of artificial intelligence-powered technology from Iveda, its third deal with the Mesa, Arizona-based cloud-based AI company in recent years.

In its announcement on Monday, the company said the deal is worth $3.2 million and follows two orders for different technology applications, which were initiated in August 2022 and August 2023 and valued at $2.7 million and $1.7 million, respectively.

For David Ly, Iveda founder and CEO, the contract leverages the company’s AI capabilities and manifests its commitment to continuing security upgrades worldwide.

“As safety and security remain a top priority for government organizations around the world, the need for AI-powered technology becomes paramount,” he said in a statement.

“Leveraging the power of AI, this contract positions Iveda Taiwan as a trusted partner in meeting the growing demand for cutting-edge AI solutions, keeping citizens, communities and government personnel safe.”

The $3.2 million contract involves Iveda Taiwan’s deployment of a comprehensive set of network equipment solutions that aim to enhance infrastructure. The project has been initiated and will take two years to complete, but the technology’s application was not disclosed.

According to a Microsoft blog post, a China-linked hacking operation called Flax Typhoon is targeting Taiwan-based organizations’ networks for long-term access, cyberattacks that need vulnerability and patch management.
