QinetiQ Names Members of Newly Created Australia Sector Advisory Group

U.K.-based global defense company QinetiQ has created an advisory board for its Australian subsidiary. The board will initially consist of three members who will provide independent counsel on QinetiQ Australia’s business activities.

The inaugural board members will also represent the company in promoting its capabilities to the government and defense markets, QinetiQ said in a statement Tuesday.

The board includes Stephen Conroy, a former Labor Party senator who had served as Australia’s shadow minister for defense.

Another board member, Peter Fraser, a retired major general of the Australian Army, brings 34 years of experience in active military service and 45 years working across the defense industry sector.

The third board appointee is Margaret Staib, a former Royal Australian Air Force officer who also served as Airservices Australia CEO and is currently the Australian Logistics Council chairperson.

Gary Stewart, QinetiQ Australia’s chief executive, described the new board members as “talented, distinguished individuals” with the expertise to support the company’s goals to help secure Australian interests across the Indo-Pacific region.

The new board’s organization follows recent QinetiQ Australia executive appointments, including the selection of Andrew Forbes as the company’s new chief growth officer. In February, QinetiQ Australia named Rebecca Humble as its new chief strategy officer.
