Accenture has acquired Italian network services company Fibermind in a bid to enhance its fiber and mobile 5G network engineering services for customers.
The acquisition was completed six weeks after Accenture announced its intent to buy Fibermind, which has over two decades of experience serving customers in the public and private sectors and established client relationships with Italy’s major mobile and fiber network operators.
As part of the deal, more than 400 Fibermind employees with expertise in network design, permit management and home connection, among other areas, will join Accenture to strengthen the company’s capabilities in Europe for clients in telecommunications, utilities, transportation and other industries.
Mauro Macchi, president and CEO of Accenture in Italy, said in June that the new business will provide customers with higher quality, greater innovation and more rigorous cost management to support and accelerate their transformation efforts.
Roberto Pagella, who leads Accenture Operations in Italy, added, “The synergies with Fibermind will allow us to create a center of excellence in engineering services where technology and data enhance and amplify human skills and knowledge.”
The latest acquisition complements Accenture’s earlier deals in Europe through which it bought Arca, AFD.TECH and umlaut.
