Lockheed Martin to Provide US Army With Patriot Air Defense System Software

The U.S. Army has awarded Lockheed Martin’s Missiles and Fire Control division a cost-plus-incentive-fee contract to provide software necessary to operate the Phased Array Tracking to Intercept of Target Advanced Capability-3.

Patriot Advanced Capability-3 is a long-range air defense missile capable of destroying tactical ballistic and cruise missile threats. It can also counter advanced enemy aircraft.

The new contract, valued at $65.5 million, will run through June 2026. Work will be performed at the company’s facilities in Grand Prairie, Texas, and other locations around the world, including in the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Poland, Romania, Sweden and Switzerland.

Army Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal in Alabama serves as the contracting activity.

Lockheed Martin is contracted with the U.S. Army to produce PAC-3 missiles at its Grand Prairie factories. Awarded in April 2023, the manufacturing contract has a potential $2.45 billion and a December 2029 completion date.
