Kongsberg NanoAvionics Appoints Atle Wollo as New CEO

Kongsberg NanoAvionics has named Atle Wollo as its new CEO, replacing Zilvinas Kvedaravicius, who assumed the role on an interim basis after former CEO Vytenis Buzas stepped down in October 2023.

Wollo most recently served as senior vice president of special programs at Kongsberg’s defense and aerospace division.

He also held other leadership roles at the company, including vice president of business development and acquisitions for defense and aerospace and president of Kongsberg’s aviation maintenance services division.

Wollo’s appointment comes as the company plans to capture more global market share in an industry transitioning to Space 3.0 and increase focus on mission longevity, performance, reliability and interoperability.

The executive expressed confidence that Kongsberg’s mission-experienced team and large standard satellite portfolio platform portfolio will allow the company to meet the needs of commercial and government customers.

“This is a fantastic time to join NanoAvionics, one of the prime smallsat manufacturers and mission operators in Europe,” Wollo said. “Their track record of successful and sophisticated missions as well as their outstanding customer list speaks for themselves.”
