Capgemini to Help Norwegian Public Roads Administration Develop Digital Transport Systems; Atle Bergfjord Quoted

Capgemini has signed a deal to support the Norwegian Public Roads Administration’s mission of improving Norway’s traffic flow and providing a reliable service to the public.

Under the four-year agreement, Capgemini will enable NPRA’s digital transformation efforts, helping the agency to become more data-centric.

The two entities will work closely to develop digital systems that will provide Norwegians with relevant traffic and transport data.

“While the administration already possesses a high volume of traffic and transportation data, this brings with it the need for new technologies and competencies that can be applied in the most effective areas of the organization,” said Atle Bergfjord, head of the Public Sector business at Capgemini Norway.

“Our work with NPRA will make it easier to extract data and make these insights available to commuters on Norwegian roads.”

Capgemini said the collaboration’s scope of work includes providing training and resources to strengthen NPRA’s digital capabilities, enabling the agency to securely collect, process and store road data to improve its decision-making process.

Capgemini sealed the new collaborative effort after announcing an agreement to provide application management and development services for Finnish company Valmet’s business-critical platforms and processes, modernizing the firm’s business operations, and making them more agile and resilient.
