Former Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has joined Dyne Maritime to serve as a member of the US venture capital investor’s advisory board.

Morrison, who served as PM from 2018 until 2022, was a founding principal in the formation of the AUKUS trilateral defense agreement between Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States.

“Having the actual architect of the agreement is a huge show of strength for the alliance,” Dyne Maritime founder Tom Hennessey said about Scott’s addition to the advisory board.

“We’re honored to have Mr. Morrison aboard so we can fully capitalize on innovation across geographies and do our part to bring critical technologies to market.”

In October, Dyne Maritime initiated a $100 million fund focused on investing in dual-use maritime technologies related to the AUKUS agreement, with emphasis on innovations in ocean exploration and monitoring.
