BAE Systems Selects AMS to Repair, Restore Ukraine’s Artillery Systems

BAE Systems has signed an agreement with AMS Integrated Solutions to provide artillery systems support within Ukraine.

Under the deal, finalized in Kyiv, the partner companies will repair BAE-built artillery systems donated by the United Kingdom to the Ukrainian armed forces.

The arrangement calls for AMS to use its existing maintenance facilities in Ukraine to deliver the required support services.

BAE said the project will tap the expertise of local engineers to ensure that Ukraine’s artillery systems remain in optimal operational form.

AMS CEO Gary Riordan said the partnership combines BAE’s experience in manufacturing artillery systems and AMS’ weapons repair and maintenance expertise. The collaborative effort will use AMS’ in-country facilities and skilled engineers to restore critical artillery equipment, ensuring the resilience and readiness of Ukraine’s defense capabilities, he added.

According to Defense One, the project will allow Ukraine to service important military equipment without shipping them out of the country, usually to Poland, increasing the guarantee that the hardware would be near the frontline when needed.
