Australia’s Silentium Defence Completes Lockheed Martin’s 12-Month Mentorship Program

Australian tech company Silentium Defence has completed the Lockheed Martin Mentor Protégé Program, a project designed to help small innovative businesses advance their technical and operational capabilities.

Lockheed Martin Australia confirmed that Silentium Defence finished the MPP, with LMA’s Office of Australian Industrial Participation sponsoring the company’s participation in the development program.

Under the 12-month mentorship, representatives from Silentium received guidance from experts in the United States and Australia.

The sessions covered topics such as ethics, contracting, quality, cybersecurity readiness and international regulatory compliance, enabling the company to compete for future contracts in domestic and global supply chains.

Through the program, Silentium Defence gained the required tools to accelerate its business growth and organizational maturity, LMA said.

The new MPP graduate is also expected to contribute to Australia’s industrial defense capability.

Warren McDonald, Lockheed Martin CEO for Australia and New Zealand, sent his congratulations to Silentium Defence for becoming the program’s second international industry graduate, noting that the MPP is a “rigorous and extensive initiative.”

“The program offers additional avenues to collaborate with local industry, enhance skills, create jobs and increase access to global supply chains,” the regional CEO said.
