Thales Names Fabien Bortoluzzi as Managing Director for Western, Central Africa Operations

Thales has appointed Fabien Bortoluzzi as managing director of the company’s operations in Western and Central Africa

In his new role, Bortoluzzi will lead the company’s over 1,000 employees in the continent and drive the growth of its civil and defense businesses in the region from the Thales West and Central Africa headquarters in Dakar, Senegal. 

Bortoluzzi joined Thales in 2001 as an export manager. Throughout the years, he climbed through the ranks, landing the role of sales director for Asia air defense systems for Thales Land and Air in 2017.

He also served as key account manager of air defense for Indonesia and head of export sales for Eurasia and Northern Asia at Thales Land and Air.

The defense, aerospace, space and transportation technology provider has had a presence in Africa for over 50 years. It provides communications, air surveillance, and training and simulation equipment to the Senegalese Armed Forces.

Thales also supplies signaling, ticketing and passenger information systems to Senegal’s Train Express Regional.
