Scan Global Logistics has signed an agreement to acquire Portugal-based company Freight & Logistics Solutions.
The deal is the latest in a series of acquisitions SGL has made in 2023. The multinational logistics provider recently acquired Sand Road Freight, ETS Transport & Logistics, ETS Fulfillment and Belglobe.
FLS, founded in 2014, specializes in defense and government logistics. The company holds national and NATO accreditations required to do business with the defense sectors in the region.
“FLS has built strong relations with the Portuguese ministry of defense, is highly engaged with the U.S. Foreign Military Sales and has developed a unique IT solution tailored to these customers’ specific demands,” said Thomas Lyck, executive vice president of government and defense at SGL.
FLS also previously worked with SGL on regional projects.
The acquisition is part of AGL’s efforts to expand its presence in Africa. FLS operates in Angola, Cabo Verde and Mozambique.
Lars Syberg, CEO of SGL for EMEA (except the Nordics), the purchase of FLS completes the company’s footprint on the Iberic Peninsula. The multinational logistics company is now represented in 49 countries.
