Saab has named Anna Wijkander as its new chief financial officer, effective Sept. 9.

Wijkander has held various leadership positions at Saab for nine years, joining the company in 2015 as head of business control, business unit command, and control systems. She is currently the company’s deputy CFO and head of corporate control.

She will replace Christian Luiga, whose departure was announced in early April. Luiga, who also serves as Saab’s deputy CEO, will leave the defense and security company for a new opportunity in a different industry segment.

Before joining Saab, Wijkander spent nearly two decades at Ericsson, where she held leadership roles, including head of corporate business, director of strategy and market analysis, and head of performance management and operational development, according to her LinkedIn profile.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration focused on international finance from Stockholm University.

Micael Johansson, Saab’s president and CEO, expressed confidence that Wijkander’s experience and skillset will support the company’s growth and the development of its financial functions.
