Brazilian electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft manufacturer Eve Air Mobility has selected Embraer-CAE Training Services to lead training initiatives related to its concept eVTOL aircraft. The aircraft will be offered as part of the Eve TechCare all-in-one service portfolio.
The Embraer-CAE joint venture will deliver a training program for pilots, maintenance professionals and ground handling personnel. Since its launch in 2007, the training specialist has been handling nine full-flight simulators worldwide using the extensive global network of CAE training centers.
Company officials stressed the importance of training for the safety and efficiency of eVTOL operations.
“This partnership not only underscores our commitment to safety and operational excellence but also equips our and operators’ teams with the necessary skills to offer outstanding customer service,” said Luiz Mauad, vice president of customer services at Eve.
Alexandre Prevost, division president for business aviation training at CAE and ECTS board member, added, “Safety will be essential to the adoption and growth of advanced air mobility, and highly trained personnel are key to safe operations.”
According to a joint statement from the three companies announcing the partnership, Eve has the most backlog for eVTOLS, with 2,900 letters of intent from 30 customers worldwide. The Sao Paolo, Brazil-headquartered urban air mobility firm’s fully electric concept eVTOL has eight dedicated rotors for vertical flight and fixed wings, enabling it to fly without changing the components’ position while in operation.
