HENSOLDT-Raytheon Repair Facility to Enhance Support for NATO EO/IR Systems

HENSOLDT and Raytheon have agreed to build a maintenance, repair and overhaul facility for electro-optical/infrared systems in Germany. The effort is part of a new partnership phase that aims to ensure NATO forces have reliable access to the sensor technology.

The MRO facility, set to be operational by early 2025, will initially focus on supporting airborne EO/IR programs in Europe and the United States, with plans to expand its scope to cover land-based programs in the future.

HENSOLDT and Raytheon will establish the infrastructure under a memorandum of understanding they signed at an AUSA event, reflecting their shared commitment to support NATO by providing operational units with more accessible sustainment capabilities to ensure the availability of mission-ready critical military technologies.

The collaboration will provide customers with “the most advanced and capable EO/IR systems available, all backed by world-class sustainment services,” said Tanya Altmann, head of the optronics and land solutions division at HENSOLDT.

The MOU builds on the two companies’ existing partnership on global opportunities.
