Poland Orders GE Engines to Power Its Fleet of Apache Guardians

GE Aerospace has received an order for T700 engines for Poland’s Boeing AH-64E Apache Guardian helicopters. The transaction is part of the United States’ Foreign Military Sales program and will be manufactured under a contract with the U.S. Army.

Amy Gowder, president and CEO of Defense & Systems at GE Aerospace, said the latest order expands the company’s long-standing partnership with Warsaw. She emphasized that the T700 engine is reliable and durable, making it an ideal choice for medium-sized helicopters.

The order is part of a recent cooperative agreement between the defense contractor and the Polish Ministry of National Defence. Under this agreement, GE will collaborate with Military Aviation Works, based in Deblin, to provide licensed MRO support for the General Electric T700 engines installed on Polish military aircraft. Additionally, the Military University of Technology in Warsaw will lead training initiatives for technicians, military personnel and the WZL-1 workforce.

GE’s T700 portfolio of turboshaft and turboprop engines powers fleets for over 130 customers in more than 50 locations worldwide. It was designed as an advanced, powerful, fully modular and affordable solution suitable for various rotorcraft and fixed-wing applications.
