GCAP Headquarters to Use Systecon Software for Life Cycle Management Support; Dan Andersson Quoted

BAE Systems, one of the companies leading the Global Combat Air Programme to develop a next-generation stealth jetfighter, has tapped Systecon to provide life cycle management software and services to GCAP‘s London headquarters.

Systecon will specifically support the BAE Systems Air GCAP Team at Warton and the collaborative activities at the main office for the program initiated under a treaty involving the United Kingdom, Japan and Italy.

In a statement, Systecon said decision-making and collaboration for the program’s main contractors, which also include Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Leonardo, will rely on a data-driven and model-based approach.

According to Systecon CEO Dan Andersson, the Opus Suite optimization software OPUS10 and simulation software SIMLOX that the company will deploy in GCAP’s home base can bring the “true LCM perspective” impacting the program’s early stages.

“The early decisions on design and supportability are decisive for what mission capability, readiness and cost-effectiveness can be achieved by this fighter program during its entire life span,” he said. Expressing delight at Systecon’s support role in GCAP, Andersson also noted that all the program’s key players are long-term Opus Suite users.
