Saab has named Mikael Adelsberg as chief digital officer and head of the Digitalization group, effective Oct. 1.
The group was newly created as part of the company’s initiatives to keep pace with the growing demand for Saab products amid the ongoing geopolitical tensions around the world.
In his new role, Adelsberg will initially focus on software and digitalization within the production, innovation and development areas, Saab said.
He joined Saab from Traton Group, where he led research and development efforts for electronics, software and autonomy.
Previously, he held a senior vice president role responsible for connected, autonomous and embedded systems at Scania and served as a board member of Scanitel.
According to Micael Johansson, president and CEO of Saab, Adelsberg’s knowledge and experience will contribute to the company’s priority of driving digitalization, maintaining its leadership in technology advancement and providing support to other functions.
