Northrop Grumman expects multibillion-dollar sales driven by the increased global demand for weapons.
During a recent earnings call, Kathy Warden, the defense company’s CEO, told investors that international sales are likely to grow at a faster rate compared to business within the United States.
She said the demand in foreign markets for defense products and services “is the strongest that I’ve seen in a long time.”
In February, Northrop completed the first phase of a contract to upgrade Taiwan’s F-16 fighter jets. The company installed its AN/APG-83 active electronically scanned array radars, Link 16 tactical sensor network, Sniper targeting pod and other technologies onto the military aircraft fleet.
According to Warden, the company is in talks with seven more potential customers to provide Integrated Viper Electronic Warfare Suite upgrades to F-16s.
Northrop also sees growth opportunities from new platforms as export restrictions ease. Warden cited its MQ-4C Triton maritime surveillance unmanned aerial vehicle.
The defense industry leader said Northrop’s UAV could meet the needs of NATO as the international alliance increases investment in strengthening its maritime surveillance capabilities.
Northrop reported $10.1 billion in revenue during the first quarter of fiscal 2024.
