Northrop Grumman Partners With Rohde & Schwarz to Support Multi-Function, Multi-Domain Technology Across Europe

Northrop Grumman has partnered with Rohde & Schwarz, a Germany-based electronics company specializing in electronic test equipment, to provide resilient communications systems across Europe.

The companies signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate at the Berlin Security Conference held in Germany on Monday.

“Working together with German industry underscores the importance of rapidly developing solutions that European forces need today,” said Adil Karim, vice president of strategy and mission solutions at Northrop Grumman.

“This collaborative framework brings together decades of experience needed to protect our allied defense forces against today’s multi-layered threats.”

The MOU establishes a framework that enables the companies to jointly develop trusted, secure and resilient multifunction technologies that connect different European and U.S. platforms across air, ground, sea and space domains. The effort will include 5th-to-4th generation aircraft interoperability upgrades.

Northrop Grumman and Rohde & Schwarz also committed to work toward enabling multi-domain connectivity for air-to-air and air-to-ground communications, as well as integrating the capabilities into ground-based air defense systems.

Finally, the companies agreed to create new opportunities for collaboration and deliver new offerings to support Germany’s National Security Strategy, European Union Defence objectives and NATO programs.
