Elbit Systems of Australia has appointed Anna Barba as its new CEO. Barba brings to Elbit over three decades of leadership experience in managing programs involving combat systems, IT systems data networks and procurement.

She moved to the company after nearly three years of serving as through-life support and sustainment director at BAE Systems Australia, where she facilitated support system acquisition efforts for the Hunter Class Frigate Program. In 2018, the Australian Department of Defence awarded ASC Shipbuilding, now known as BAE Systems Maritime Australia, a contract to develop nine frigates with anti-submarine capability for the Australian Defence Force.

Before moving to Canberra, Barba was BAE Systems’ general manager in Canada – the first position she held at the company since she left her role as landing helicopter dock program director at BAE Systems’ Australian branch to join CTA International as a managing director.

In her new role, Barba will oversee Elbit as it contributes to ADF’s digitization efforts. Elbit Australia’s defense-related offerings include integrated logistics services, on-field training and simulation support, cybersecurity training, aircraft and helicopter solutions, and observation systems powered by the space technology of its parent company Elbit Systems.
