CGI has appointed Tony Scardino as vice president and head of its federal consulting business.

Scardino brings over three decades of leadership experience across private and public sectors to CGI Federal.

“Tony’s experience across the federal enterprise is invaluable to CGI clients as they take advantage of the opportunities presented by an evolving government environment, technology innovations and the increasing opportunity to bring together data and intelligence,” Stephanie Mango, president of CGI Federal, said in a statement announcing the appointment.

Previously, he served as chief financial officer for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the Federal Election Commission. Earlier in his career, he was a senior budget analyst at the FBI.

Following his stint as CFO at USPTO, Scardino joined Grant Thorton’s public sector advisory practice as a managing principal. Most recently, he was a partner with government consulting services provider Guidehouse.

As a financial management thought leader, he serves as a member of the AGA National Governing Board and a fellow with the Partnership for Public Services’ Strategic Advisors to Government Executives and the National Academy of Public Administration.
