British Soldiers Participate in NATO’s Operation Chelonia to Improve Interoperability With Allies

The British armed forces participated in the Operation Chelonia military exercise, improving its collaborative capabilities with NATO allies in the Western Balkans.

Soldiers from the United Kingdom’s Strategic Reserve Force joined the exercise held close to Pasha Liman Naval Base in southern Albania. They arrived at the location using amphibious vehicles and proceeded to service the Mexeflote, a modular motorized floating platform loaded with heavy military hardware that would be carried to the beach.

British Armed Forces Minister Luke Pollard said the British soldiers’ participation in the exercise reflects the nation’s commitment to boosting the alliance’s collective security. “Working closely with our NATO partners, we are demonstrating our combined efforts to safeguard peace, stability and security in the region,” he added.
