The Brazilian Aerospace Operations Command hosted the mid-planning conference for Global Sentinel 25 to prepare for the upcoming capstone event, which aims to strengthen international cooperation on advancing space technologies.
The three-day event, held in Brasilia in late November, brought together attendees from 30 nations to establish GS25’s technical presentations, debates and other activities. Among the highlights were presentations led by the air forces of France, Germany and Japan, which focused on building a safer space environment.
The mission of Global Sentinel is to promote experimentation and innovation in space technologies, which include space security, space situational awareness and operational safety. The 2024 event was held at Vandenberg Space Force Base in February and convened participants from Canada, Finland and Thailand, among other countries. The 2025 iteration is scheduled for April.
Brazilian Air Force Col. Alessandro Sorgini D’Amato, vice chief of the Brazilian Space Operations Center, emphasized the significant of Brazil hosting the meeting ahead of “one of the most important exercises focused on the space domain.”
““Brazil… is sending a clear message that multilateral collaboration is essential for operations in the space domain,” the official said.
