Israeli defense firm Elbit Systems has received an order worth $355 million from an unnamed European country to supply Precise and Universal Launching Systems rocket launchers and rockets and Hermes 900 unmanned aircraft systems.
According to Elbit Systems President and CEO Bezhalel Machlis, the company’s advanced defense solutions will help enhance its customer’s operational efficiency and adaptability. “These contracts reflect the global trust in our innovative systems, such as the PULS and Hermes 900, which are designed to meet a broad range of mission requirements,” the chief executive said in a statement.
A multipurpose launcher, the PULS autonomous artillery rocket system can fire various ammunition, including Accular 122 mm and Predator Hawk rockets, from a single position and as far as 300 kilometers. Meanwhile, the Hermes 900 is the company’s largest drone for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance missions on land or at sea.
The PULS multiple-launch rocket system, suitable for wheeled and tracked platforms, is currently deployed by the Armed Forces of Morocco and the Royal Netherlands Army while the Hermes 900 UAS is used by over 20 customers globally.
This latest order follows Elbit Systems’ $130 million contract from BAE Systems Hägglunds to integrate its Iron Fist active protection systems onto a European country’s infantry fighting vehicles. In April, the Haifa-based tech provider also won a $50 million deal with an undisclosed international customer for its Red Sky air defense system.
