Lockheed Martin has signed a memorandum of understanding with German sensor technology firm HENSOLDT to develop innovative solutions for maritime customers.
Paul Lemmo, vice president and general manager for integrated warfare systems and sensors at Lockheed Martin, and HENSOLDT CEO Oliver Dorre signed the agreement on Thursday. The intended collaboration will center on maritime command and control systems and radar technologies.
According to Lemmo, the deal forms part of Lockheed’s commitment to collaborating with other organizations in Germany and beyond to produce radar systems capable of delivering current and future operational requirements. It recently conducted the first live tracking tests on the Spy-7, its most advanced radar product line.
For Dorre, the MOU with Lockheed reflects Hensoldt’s progress toward becoming a reliable partner for national and international security and defense programs.
“We are already working together successfully on various projects,” he said. “We are therefore all the more looking forward to working with the Lockheed Martin team to drive forward concepts with pioneering technologies in the field of maritime command and control systems and radar.”
