BAE Systems Explores Defense Technology Development With Hensoldt Company ESG

British defense contractor BAE Systems is collaborating with Hensoldt company ESG to explore how their technologies can improve defense capabilities.

According to a memorandum of understanding signed by the two companies, the effort will focus on autonomous platforms, training and mission systems for multidomain operations.

The partnership builds on the two companies’ recent projects, including the Eurofighter Typhoon, the under-development Future Combat Air Systems, and the Tornado consortium between Germany, the U.K. and Italy.

Tony Gilchrist, business development director at BAE Systems Air, said collaboration plays a significant role in the European defense sector and the partnership with the German company continues BAE Systems’ commitment to protecting Europe’s security.

“Both companies represent a strong commitment to our customers, and we are hence committed to bringing our markets and cutting-edge technologies closer together,” he said.

According to the executive, the MOU aligns with the recently signed Trinity House Agreement to improve and enhance bilateral cooperation between the U.K. and Germany’s defense ministries.
