Thales Works With Clavister, Blackthorn to Develop New Cyber, Defense Solutions

Thales has signed an agreement to bolster cyber collaboration and explore new business opportunities in Sweden with Clavister and Blackthorn.

The three parties finalized a memorandum of understanding to develop new cybersecurity and defense solutions for their existing customers.

Thales said the partnership will advance joint efforts to meet Swedish customers’ requirements for enhanced networking, routing, computing and cloud technologies.

According to Thales Sweden CEO Hakan Ahlstrom, the collaborative effort will deliver cybersecurity and network solutions to better protect the Swedish Armed Forces and meet its operational needs.

“Thales is committed to building strong industrial collaborations and trusted local partnerships to the benefit of our international customers,” he said.

Commenting on the MOU, Clavister CEO John Vestberg said Swedish cybersecurity expertise will further enhance Thales’ existing defense solutions.

Blackthorn Chief Operating Officer Rickard Thorn added that the partnership will offer new capabilities designed to satisfy Sweden and NATO’s requirements for interoperability.

The new deal follows Thales’ acceleration of its European partnerships to further strengthen its portfolio of emerging technologies. The latest of these is an agreement with the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission to develop and deploy artificial intelligence tools. Under that arrangement, the company and CEA will combine their capabilities to accelerate the integration of AI into solutions for Thales customers.
