Amentum has secured a spot on a $1.25 billion U.K. Ministry of Defence project to support the United Kingdom’s efforts to develop hypersonic strike technologies.
Under the seven-year Hypersonic Technologies and Capability Development Framework, the company will compete for contracts to provide research, simulation, edge technology development, solutions integration and testing services.
According to Mark Whitney, president of the national security group at Amentum, the organization will use its extensive partnership experience and deep hypersonic knowledge to deliver advanced technologies and engineering solutions to the U.K. government.
“Our efforts will expedite the MoD’s mission to establish a sovereign U.K. hypersonic strike capability, significantly enhancing national security,” Whitney said.
The MoD set up the HTCDF framework to accelerate the country’s development of hypersonic capacity and strengthen the U.K.’s AUKUS collaboration with Australia and the United States.
