Textron Aviation Moves to Larger Australian Facilities to Expand Market Reach; Brad White Quoted

Textron Aviation’s Australian operations at the Jandakot airport in Perth and Essendon Fields in Melbourne are moving to larger and upgraded facilities to expand the company’s market reach.

Brad White, Textron Aviation’s senior vice president for global parts and distribution, said the expansion will enable faster and more timely customer support.

“With more than 1,400 aircraft operating in the region, we’re making this investment in direct response to customer feedback and an increasing demand for parts availability globally,” he said.

The Wichita, Kansas-based company said transferring its Jandakot airport service center will offer more space for plane servicing and raise shop capacity for faster services. It expects full operations at the new service center by the end of July.

Meanwhile, an additional 5,000 square feet of new parts storage will be provided in Textron’s move to a new facility near Melbourne’s Essendon Fields airport. Parts storage in the new facility, anticipated to be fully functional by the end of June, will increase fourfold over the previous site, enabling faster customer shipments.

An additional parts customer support and warranty team will be assigned to the facility for servicing Cessna, Beechcraft and Hawker parts requirements.

The company also announced that it is renaming Premiair Aviation Maintenance, a service center it acquired in 2020, to Textron Aviation Australia to fully assimilate the Perth, Gold Coast and Melbourne operations into Textron Aviation’s global service network.
