CRDF Global has received a contract from Global Affairs Canada to strengthen the nation’s defenses against North Korea

The Arlington, Virginia-based company will work on four projects that address the regime’s cyber, sanctions evasion and missile proliferation activities.

The contract is valued at $1 million.

“International collaboration is vital to enhance cybersecurity awareness and sanctions enforcement capabilities in at-risk industries and governments to better protect private and public sector systems from this evolving threat,” said Chris Grout, project leader with GAC’s Weapons Threat Reduction Program Division/Global Affairs Canada.

CRDF Global has been a partner of the Canadian government agency since 2018.

Under the new contract, the logistics support provider will host workshops and webinars on cybersecurity capacity building in Southeast Asia, provide information on ways North Korea uses cryptocurrencies to evade sanctions and share Pyongyang’s tactics to generate revenue for its weapons of mass destruction and missile proliferation programs.
