European tech company Idemia has entered a partnership agreement with HTX, the science and tech unit of Singapore’s Ministry of Home Affairs, on biometrics and forensics research and development. Under their Strategic Partnership for Innovation, Idemia and HTX will jointly design and test solutions to secure the safety of Singapore’s citizens, residents and visitors.
According to the SPI announcement released Wednesday, the agreement draws strength from Idemia’s presence in Singapore since 2018 and over 3,000 global R&D talents, as well as HTX’s professional competencies and wide-ranging local network.
HTX CEO Chan Tsan said he looks forward to the engineers and scientists from the two teams bringing “cutting-edge homeland security solutions” to Singapore.
Matt Cole, Idemia CEO for public security and identity, called the partnership “a major milestone” in the company’s collaboration with HTX. He also noted Idemia’s commitment to contribute its expertise to Singapore’s homeland security.
