U.S. aerospace company Bell Textron has received an order from Tunisia to deliver 12 Subaru Bell 412EPX helicopters, which will be used for multi-role military and security operations. The order is part of the Tunisian Air Force’s expansion of its Bell rotary-wing fleet, which currently has Bell UH-1s, 205s and OH-58s.
A next-generation utility helicopter, the 412EPX builds on the reliability and durability of the Bell 412 series. It features Subaru’s proprietary laser peening technology, a maximum internal weight of 12,200 pounds, and four high-definition displays to improve digital navigation and communication. The Subaru Bell helicopter is in service among organizations worldwide, including the Croatian Ministry of Interior, Japan Coast Guard and San Diego Fire and Rescue.
“The Bell 412 is one of the most trusted platforms globally, and we are honored to support the Tunisian Air Force as it expands its fleet with this proven and versatile aircraft,” said Tim Evans, Bell managing director for the Middle East and Africa.
In 2023, Textron won a contract to supply the Tunisian Air Force with its eighth Beechcraft T-6C Texan II military training aircraft, allowing trainees to learn about flight controls, general handling and aerobatics.
