BAE Systems said the order is expected to boost the Scandinavian nation’s long-range capabilities and enhance its rate of destruction of enemy vehicles. The order continues a long history of collaboration between the company and the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration.

BONUS is a 155 mm cannon artillery piece with a base-bleed design. When fired from a NATO L52 gun, it has a maximum range of 35 kilometers.

According to Henrik Knape, ammunition sales director at BAE Systems Bofors, the deal, the third of its kind with the Swedish Armed Forces, demonstrates the two organizations’ desire to incorporate the latest defense innovations. “We are committed to delivering a trusted solution that strengthens their indirect fire capability and keeps their warfighters safe,” he said.
