Northrop Grumman has signed a memorandum of understanding with Marshall Land Systems to improve the U.K. Ministry of Defence’s command and control hardware solutions in support of the nation’s Ground Based Air Defence program.

According to Northrop, the partnership aims to integrate its air and missile defense technologies with Marshall’s modular containerized systems to enhance the U.K.’s short- and medium-range air defense infrastructure.

Kenn Todorov, vice president and general manager for command and control and weapons integration at Northrop Grumman, said the collaboration aligns with the company’s global mission to modernize air and missile defense.

“The collaboration with Marshall Land Systems highlights the power of industrial partnerships and will capitalize on our combined expertise to enhance operational efficiency, readiness and resilience,” Todorov said in a statement.

Boosting Partnerships With Industry

Bob Baxter, Marshall’s chief growth officer, described the agreement as a way to amplify the company’s longstanding role in supporting the British armed forces. “Marshall is at its best when working alongside industry partners,” the executive said in a statement. “I am confident that this will be reflected in the exceptional engineering and production support that we will provide to complement Northrop Grumman’s world-leading air and missile defence technologies.”

The latest partnership adds to Northrop Grumman’s other recent defense collaborations. Earlier this year, the company joined forces with South Korea’s Hanwha Group to support the East Asian country’s Mine Countermeasures Helicopter initiative. Northrop also signed an agreement with Polish IT firm Exence and the Polish Air Force Institute of Technology to explore command and control enhancements using the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft.
