Nokia has partnered with Leonardo to develop a global private wireless solution for public safety and critical infrastructure applications. The collaboration will integrate Leonardo’s MC_linX platform into Nokia’s enterprise solutions to enable faster emergency response and safer operations across sectors such as energy and transportation.
According to Nokia, the 3GPP-compliant MC_linX platform supports push-to-talk, video and data services over private and commercial 4G/5G networks. Integrated with Nokia’s customizable and compact modules, the pre-integrated solution is expected to accelerate the deployment of essential services in critical environments.
“By combining Nokia’s robust private wireless and core software capabilities with Leonardo’s trusted mission-critical technologies, we are delivering a seamless solution that meets the stringent demands of industries like public safety, energy and rail,” Prakash Sagadopan, head of enterprise wide area networks at Nokia, said in a statement.
This Leonardo partnership follows Nokia’s string of recent collaborations in Europe. Earlier this month, the Espoo, Finland-based company was tapped to lead PROACTIF, a European Union-funded robotics and unmanned systems project under the Chips Joint Undertaking. It also recently partnered with Rheinmetall’s software subsidiary to develop modular 5G tactical networks for the German military.
