Fortinet Joins NATO-Hosted Cyber Resilience Events

Fortinet helps NATO achieve cyber resilience

U.S. cybersecurity company Fortinet has participated in two NATO Industry Cyber Partnership-hosted events to ensure member nations maintain their readiness in addressing cyberthreats.

At the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence-organized Locked Shields 2025 exercise, a FortiGuard Labs team offered its consulting expertise to build exercise scenarios, such as creating red-team attacks that mimic state-sponsored attacks. Participants used FortiGate Next Generation Firewall rulesets, FortiSandbox analysis and the FortiManager integrated threat intelligence platform to test their capabilities in threat hunting and containment.

Fortinet also participated in the 2025 NATO International Conference on Cyber Conflict, which provided attendees a better understanding of the motivating factors driving bad actors to carry out cybercrimes. A key highlight of the event was a discussion hosted by Aamir Lakhani, a cybersecurity researcher and practitioner at Fortinet, in which he highlighted that financial gain is not the only force pushing individuals to commit fraud.

Since 2016, Fortinet has been part of the NICP, playing an active role in the group’s cyber resilience exercises and events. NICP facilitates improved sharing of information and best practices among group members.
