Hawkeye 360 Appoints General Manager to Lead Japan Operations

Hiroshi “Henry” Ogawa, general manager of Japan at HawkEye 360

HawkEye 360 has named Hiroshi “Henry” Ogawa as its general manager for Japan to support the company’s broader effort to expand its presence in the Indo-Pacific. Based in Tokyo, Ogawa will drive HawkEye 360’s growth strategy in Japan, focusing on business development, local partnerships and national security initiatives.

Ogawa previously served as CEO of Sumisho Aero-Systems, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Corp., and was also a board observer at HawkEye 360, representing Sumitomo’s investment in the American geospatial analytics company. He said he was drawn to HawkEye 360’s potential early on.

“I believed in this company from the start, leading Sumitomo’s investment in 2018, because I was impressed by its technology, vision and leadership,” Ogawa said, adding that his new role will focus on supporting Japan’s security landscape and regional stability through access to HawkEye360’s radio frequency insights. He will report to Alex Fox, president of the company’s international business unit.

Ogawa’s appointment follows several senior leadership changes aimed at streamlining HawkEye 360’s operations. They include Chris Herndon’s expanded role as chief operating officer and chief information officer, Craig Searle’s promotion to chief business officer and Janine Sweeney’s appointment as chief human resources officer.
