Leonardo Names New VP of Helicopter Unit’s Market Development

Adam Wardrope as marketing VP at Leonardo Helicopter

Leonardo Helicopters has named Adam Wardrope as vice president of market development. The executive announced the appointment via LinkedIn on Saturday.

Wardrope most recently served as Leonardo’s head of strategic engagement and campaigns, working from London, England, to manage the company’s relations with key defense stakeholders, government agencies and other related entities in the United Kingdom. He was also head of strategic campaigns for the helicopter electronic warfare segment.

Before joining the private sector, Wardrope held roles in the U.K. Ministry of Defence, including capability plans head and member of the higher command and staff course. He also served in the Royal Air Force, holding a number of positions, including Astra program director, station commander and Puma Force commander.

The new VP currently serves as a member of the Royal Air Force Club’s board of trustees.

The appointment follows the creation of Leonardo’s aeronautics unit, which combines the company’s aerostructure and aircraft divisions and supports the development of contributing technologies for next-generation multi-domain aeronautical systems. Stefano Bortoli was named the new division’s managing director.
