The U.S. Department of the Treasury has announced a fast-track pilot program to increase foreign investment from allied and partner nations. The program aims to boost the U.S. economy while maintaining strict national security safeguards. According to the department, the initiative includes creating a Known Investor portal where the Treasury-led Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States can prescreen foreign investors.

The new process will be piloted before full implementation and aligns with the goals of President Donald Trump’s America First Investment Policy. The Treasury said the effort focuses on streamlining review procedures for investors demonstrating clear independence from foreign adversaries or threat actors.

According to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, the intention is to preserve a strong investment climate without compromising national security.

“The United States benefits from the strong and stable investments of our allies and partners,” he said in a statement announcing the program. “Treasury is committed to maintaining and enhancing the open investment environment that benefits our economy, while making sure that process efficiencies do not diminish our ability to identify and address national security risks.”
